Today, twenty years ago, you and I ( and holy crap do we ever look young!! ), marched down the aisle and exchanged vows. Twenty. Years. Ago.
Like all good things in life, getting to a milestone like this is never easy. We both know that our trail has brought us to ( literally ) tops of mountains with amazing views, and of course we have also wandered through some dark valleys, some swamps, and some places I really hope we never have to visit again ( literally and figuratively ).
But I am soooo very grateful that we have continued to make that commitment to be partners through it all, every day, for the last two decades Becky. As we grow older together, I continue to realize new ways how I simply could not get through this wild world without you beside me.
You continue to inspire me through your selfless work as a teacher, and in your unwavering dedication to raising our daughters. Even when confronted with the epic confusion that is a teenage daughter, you adapt, learn, and love.
One thing that hasn’t changed much during the past 20 years ( omg I still can’t believe its been 20 years ) – is your beauty. I appreciate it more and more every year, and its not just your cute little smile you flash at me, but your beauty as a person. You have a beautiful soul, and I’m so fortunate to have you in my life Becky.
Thank you. Thank you for putting up with my antics, my fishing obsessions, my moods, my facial hair; thank you for just loving me for me. That is the greatest gift I could ever receive, and I hope to keep loving you too… wherever our trail takes us next.
